It is believed that the remains of the satellite, previously containing 1,000 pounds of lethal hydrazine fuel, would enter the Earth's atmosphere over the next 24-48 hours. Imagery analysis shows that a vapor cloud formed upon impact indicating that there was a direct hit on the satellite's fuel tank. Further analysis shows that the satellite broke up into many small pieces which should easily disintegrate as they burn up on re-entry.
